    Cogolin's 14th century hilltop clock tower is all of what is left of its original castle, which was destroyed in 1579 during the Religious Wars. It now dominates the town creating an imposing view.

Departing from the parking beneath the windmill St Roch take the footpath towards the Pont des Fees. Keep on going down this path leaving the Pont des Fees behind on your left. At the big wooden fence leave the footpath and continue going down the hill, 50 meters after fording the river, 'La Garde', you will see on your left and old olive grove and a typical 18th century farm house. After a short while take the footbridge crossing the river and go up the road. You will soon arrive at a departmental road 558, after roughly 500m. Cross the road and head towards the village. At the pedestrian crossing cross the road again and take the stairs up to the Boulevard des Anciennes Ecoles, follow towards Place Neuve. From here you can return to the start via the town hall and the signs to the wind mill St Roch.
