L'Olivier Restaurant, Saint-Tropez

Michelin starred gourmet restaurant of the Bastide de Saint Tropez hotel

Featured in: | Updated

The restaurant of the Bastide de Saint-Tropez hotel is run by Chef Philippe Colinet and his team.

This Michelin starred restaurant offers a choice between two types of cuisine; one is distinctly gourmet oriented, the other is in the bistro spirit, but both are prepared using fresh, local ingredients for a festival of flavours.

Within the comfortable surroundings of the charming winter garden you can enjoy lunch or dinner. Summer brings with it the opportunity to sit out on the beautiful terrace in the shade of well-established olive trees.

The chef plays the card of originality in bringing out the full wealth of local flavours. The dishes vary by season and according to the mood of a chef who is eager above all else to satisfy his guests.

Every evening and Sunday afternoon from May to September.

Worth knowing

Apprenticed in a two-star establishment in Touraine with Jean Bardet, Chef Philippe Colinet has also worked in turn at La Roche Le Roy in Tours, Le Copenhague in Paris, at Gray d'Albion in Cannes and the Château de Fère at the Portes de la Champagne. From 2010-2012, he held the position of head chef at the restaurant Les Templiers, where he attained the coveted Michelin star.

Since 2014 he has officiated at the Bastide de Saint-Tropez, and, of course, his ambition is to enable the l’Olivier to regain its own Michelin star. (Achieved in 2017)

  • "The menu is imaginative and very well executed. Service a delight. You probably wouldn't visit if you weren't staying in the hotel but if you are you really should. Both wine list and menu are reasonably priced for the quality delivered." - Trip Advisor
  • "In a quiet garden surrounded by trees and flowers are tables dressed all in white waiting to display by contrast colours from the plates. The culinary presentation is colourful, yet traditional and flavours are balanced and originally "destructured". Each bite is an expression of the Chef passion for his craftsmanship and his treatment of the raw local products." - Trip Advisor
