What's On in Saint Tropez May 2017

The ladies of Saint Tropez will be out to sail in this very special invitational regatta. The Dames de Saint Tropez yachting regatta is a unique rendezvous where women take the helm of some of the most beautiful sailing ships in the Mediterranean and race against other all-female teams. Those on land won't be missing out either as the festive program will begin with a welcome cocktail, a night for the crew and finish with the awards ceremony.

The sound of roaring engines will once again take over the harbour in the port of Saint Tropez as the Harley Davidson Eurofestival rolls into town for their annual get together. The French Riviera is a Harley heaven for bikers, with picturesque mountain roads snaking their way down to the southern French coastal road. This two day event has dealers, traders, bars, merchandise and a main stage with live music.

Tradition comes to the port in the middle of the month as the town comes together to celebrate Les Bravades de Saint Tropez. This long standing traditional festival celebrates the town's patron saint, as well as the formation of the army, created in the mid 16th century. Expect traditional music, dancing, food and drinking plus stalls and parades in the street. Saint Tropez is dressed in white and red, the colours of the Pirate City, to applaud its military parades. Proud locals dress up in empire uniforms, fire off muskets and march with the band. The ‘real’ Saint Tropez behind the glitz, this is the most culturally important festival in Saint Tropez and is a huge local favourite.

The Printemps musical de Saint Tropez is series of classical music concerts annually in April, May & June. Organised by the Society of Friends Tropézienne Music of Saint-Tropez, these special concerts are a must for any classical music lover visiting the area. May will see Alexandre Kniazev on cello and Plamena Mangova on the piano.

The month comes to a close with the Voiles Latines a St Tropez - a wonderful display of latin-rig sailboats in the harbour of St Tropez. Celebrating their maritime heritage along with music, arts, crafts and gastronomic treats, these boats will be on display for you to enjoy. Arriving by sea or by land, Pointues, Felouques, Gozzos, Tartanons, Tarquié, boats from Marseille and Catalonia will tie up in the old Port of Saint-Tropez from Thursday 25th May 2017.
