Following on from Pamela Anderson's vegan pop-up idea, which sadly lasted only ten days, screen icon and infamous animal rights campaigner Brigitte Bardot has addressed the restauranteurs of Saint Tropez and called for more vegan dishes on menus.

The iconic French actress, Brigitte Bardot, retired from the limelight in 1973 and became somewhat of a recluse, in her Saint Tropez villa. Although hidden, the former actress is anything but silent and she is a vociferous animal rights campaigner. Her latest plight has seen her writing to the restaurant owners of Saint Tropez and the Var region, calling for more vegan and vegetarian options of their menus.

The hand-written note which reads, "A little message from BB to the restauranteurs of St Tropez. Take advantage of the summer, the holidays for adding a small vegetarian selection to your menus", has been copied and distributed to restaurant owners in the hopes that they will adopt this small change.

Many restaurants in the Saint Tropez area will accommodate vegetarian and vegan diets, even if they do not specifically advertise dishes on their menu. Don't forget to ask if you have specific dietary requirements!
