Enjoy spring time on the Riviera in St Tropez' beautiful port
As the sun begins to heat the earth and our skin we can certainly feel that spring is in the air here in Saint Tropez.
Now it's time to get out and enjoy the fresh air and sample the very best that this stunning part of the French Riviera has to offer.
Enjoy the roar of engines
The month of April starts with the roar of engines at the Retropezien Motorcycle Exhibition. No stranger to petrol heads, the beautiful town of Saint Tropez regularly hosts supercar exhibitions, as well as the annual Harley Davidson Eurofestival. Organised by the association Moto-Club Retro-Pézien this event will see the gathering of old motorcycles, before 1960, from both France and abroad. This is the 24th edition of the event.
Sip a glass of chilled rose
Next up, the Salon du Vin wine festival will bring together local and national vineyards so that you can enjoy a glass and sample their latest vintages. More than 100 domains will gather for the second edition of this fair organised by Olivier Fuchs, in partnership with the City of Saint Tropez.
Stretch you legs on the bike
The Granfondo St Tropez is a road cycling race that will see many a keen amateur board their trusty steed and head for the hills. The weather conditions in April are perfect for road biking and the roads in the Var region are perfect for enjoying a day out on the bike. Registrations are accepted right up until the 6th April, with the event taking place on Sunday 9th April 2017.
Wind in your sails
The weekend of 21st April brings 10th edition of the Coupe de l'Hippocampe. Created in 2006, this event is by invitation only and is open to “Smeralda 888” ( sailboats of approximately 9m) which are based in Monaco. The participation of well-respected competitors means that the races, which take place over three days in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, are not lacking in spice.
Another chance to stretch your legs
This time the race in on foot rather than two wheels. The Trail des Balcons d'Azur is a weekend of trail running in the stunning Esterel mountains. With the arrival of spring the running season is finally here, and enthusiasts from all over will bear their legs once again after a harsh winter.
Pull a few strings
The Printemps Musical de Saint Tropez brings is three concerts in April, May and June to celebrate the richness of classical music in the spring time. Organised by the Society of Friends Tropézienne Music of Saint-Tropez, these special concerts are a must for any classical music lover visiting the area. Sunday, 23rd April sees Quatuor Hermès (cordes) and Geoffroy Couteau (piano) perform.
