Simone Zanoni leaves Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in Versailles for the Mediterranean coast
At just 29 years of age, chef Simone Zanoni has been working alongside culinary superstar Gordon Ramsay since 2003, as Head Chef at the restaurant 'Gordon Ramsay London' and then as Executive Chef at 'Gordon Ramsay at The Trianon' restaurant in Versailles.
After the recent departure of Executive Chef Thierry Thiercelin from the Villa Belrose in St Tropez, the hunt was on for a successor. Chef Thiercelin has created his culinary delights for the rich and famous who frequent the hotel for the past 17 years and will be sorely missed.
However, the arrival of Simone Zanoni and his trusty sous chef Pietro Volonte will no doubt bring their particular flair and Italian influence to the menu at this wonderful restaurant.
"Our customers will enjoy modern French cuisine and Mediterranean produce with Italian influences, complimented, as always, by outstanding views over the bay of Saint Tropez," said Thomas H. Althoff, owner of Villa Belrose and Chairman of the Althoff Hotel Collection Group and Ameron Hotel Collection.
"It is a great honour for us to bring these two excellent chefs Simone Zanoni and Pietro Volontè into the kitchen of Le Belrose restaurant," added hotel director Robert-Jan van Straaten.
