Celebrities flock to Saint Tropez
You never known who you'll bump into in this glamorous town
With the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation Gala being held in St Tropez last week, it’s no surprise that numerous celebrities are taking this chance to spend their holidays in the French Riviera.
Seen stepping off their superyachts, sunning themselves at the beach clubs, sipping champagne at the port side restaurants and partying the night away at VIP Room, Saint Tropez is most definitely a hot destination for the A-listers. Leo himself hosted his annual foundation fundraising gala on Wednesday 20th July, and has been spotted dining at the Club 55 beach club and seen leaving VIP Room nightclub surrounded by glamorous women. With the gala done and dusted Leo and his friend, actor Toby Maguire, took the short helicopter ride to a private jet and headed off for the next party in Ibiza.
There have been plenty of other famous people spotted around town in recent weeks, including Donald Trump's ex-wife Ivana, F1 star Lewis Hamilton and songstress Mariah Carey.
Goldie Hawn's daughter, Kate Hudson, who was one of the chairmen for this years Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation Gala, has been holidaying with her children. On Friday she was seen boarding Roman Abramovich's super-yacht Eclipse, which is worth $1.5 billion. Hudson has also been spotted at the famous Club 55 beach restaurant with Stella McCartney and other friends. Chris Rock and his girlfriend Megalyn Echikunwoke were pictured dining with Kate at the Club 55 beach restaurant. They have been soaking up the sun on board a stunning private yacht.
Some of the Victoria's Secret Models chartered the luxury yacht Ecstasea ahead of the LDF gala. Models that were spotted on board include Doutzen Kroes, Alessandra Ambrosio, Lily Donaldson, Joan Smalls, Elsa Hosk and newcomer Constance Jablonski. They have been sharing numerous pictures on social media of their time in St Tropez. Alessandra was seen on Friday at Club 55 looking very cosy with her fiancé Jamie Mazur.
U2 frontman, Bono, regularly spends his summers along the French Riviera coast. He was worryingly involved in the terror attack in Nice on July 14th, where it is reported that he was dining on the terrace of La Petite Maison restaurant during the attacks and was thankfully escorted to safety with the other diners. He has recently paid tribute to the victims of the attacks by laying flowers and writing a poignant message that quotes lyrics used on the band's track California (There Is No End To Love). 'There is no end to grief that's how I know there is no end to love. Bono. With respect for lives lost here on 14/7/16.' Bono He has been seen in and around the town of Saint Tropez in places such as the infamous VIP Room and of course the beach restaurant, Club 55.
Music diva Mariah Carey has been relaxing on a yacht with her fiancé, Australian businessman and philanthropist, James Packer, and her family. She has been spotted on several occasions strolling around Saint Tropez and also attended the LDF gala, where she posted pictures on Instagram of her fun night out with friends.
Power couple Catherine Zera-Jones & Micheal Douglas were photographed taking a stroll around the streets of Saint Tropez on Saturday and later boarded a boat from Les Palmiers Beach Club - a chic and exclusive address on Pampelonne beach.
Ellie Goulding has been taking a much-needed break on a yacht in Saint Tropez. Her social media pages are filled with holiday shots of her at the beach and relaxing pool-side. Having already performed 100 gigs in 2016, the singer been signed-off by her doctor due to exhaustion. After cancelling several gigs she is now well on the road to recovery and feeling positive about the coming year.
Before heading to the Hungarian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton was seen relaxing on a Saint Tropez yacht with some very glamorous women. The F1 star deserved this celebratory break after winning the Silverstone Grand Prix the week before. No doubt he was continuing that celebration after his win in Hungary too, his third in a row. Hamilton now leads the 2016 F1 driver standings.
