Commemorating the Storming of the Bastille on 14 July 1789, during the French Revolution, as well as the Fête de la Fédération which celebrated the unity of the French people on 14 July 1790. If you want to fully immerse yourself in the festivities then there will be a patriotic ceremony taking place at 10.30 on the morning Friday 14th July in front of the memorial (Jean Despas Hall - gardens). The programme for the evening is perfect for kids and adults alike - at 21:30 you are welcome at the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville (town hall) where children will be given paper lanterns.
