Built like a small provencal village, the mythical 5-star Palace property was originally founded by a Lebanese businessman who wanted to woo Brigitte Bardot. A month or so after the launch, he sadly had to return to Lebanon and sold the property to a successful French businessman called Sylvain Floirat.

The Hotel Byblos has a rich history having been a celebrity haunt for half a century. Mick Jagger (who honeymooned there in 1971), Cher and Jack Nicholson all stayed at the hotel amongst others. More recently, celebrities have included David Guetta, P Diddy and Beyonce.

The hotel also features a fabulous nightclub at its centre since 1967, the mythical Les Caves du Roy, which 50 years later, still remains an icon on the French Riviera. Half a century on and celebrities and jetsetters all continue to enjoy intimate luxury within the timeless walls of the property and dance the night away in its famous nightclub.

Steeped in such history and glamour, it is no wonder the hotel will celebrate its upcoming 50th anniversary in style. For the occasion, Hotel Byblos has partnered with a range of highend luxury brands. Missoni, will be sharing its passion for the mythical destination by partnering with the property to create a bespoke product or concept, in celebration of this impressive milestone. Other exclusive creations will be made by Rolls Royce, Audemars Piguet, Goyard, and Sisley, all commemorating this golden anniversary.

The hotel will reopen on 13 April 2017 to celebrate its next chapter when it enters its 50th year, followed by the redesign of Les Caves du Roy in spring 2017. Thursday 25th May to Sunday 28th May 2017 will mark the hotel’s main celebration, having first opened its doors on 27 May 1967. During these four days, the partners will reveal their exclusively created product for Hotel Byblos with a special gala dinner taking place on Saturday 27th May. Festivities will not end here, as Hotel Byblos hosts its annual Summer Party on 19th July with a special VIP performance. A historical book on Byblos’ journey through 50 years, will also be available to purchase from May 2017 at the hotel.
