Last November a Government ruling that closed smaller border crossing points across the country effectively banned flights from outside of the Schengen zone landing at Saint Tropez' La Mole airport.

The decision, which was based on budget cuts, had the tourist industry in Saint Tropez up in arms as many of the summer residents arrive by private jet from outside of the of the Schengen zone. After months of debate and discussions, the High Administrative Court has now instructed the Government to notify the European Commission of the new list that restores La Mole airport within the current number of border crossing points in France.

"It is a very good victory for our economy, for tourism and for our region," said the local delegate, Renaud Muselier.

The new ruling will ensure that the high flyers who call Saint Tropez home will be able to fly their private jets in and out of the airport with ease from all across the globe.
